Creating resource QuickLinks
Resource QuickLinks are used on portal pages to help remote users access internal resources. They
allow users to access content without requiring that they type an entire URL. Resources can also be
grouped in logical categories to make them easier to find and use. In the example portal page, in the
Mail category, users are permitted to access Exchange OWA and Web Mail without typing the URL.
Prerequisites
Complete the following tasks before beginning this procedure:
■
To create a resource link
1
In the SGMI, in the left pane, under Assets, click
Portal Pages
.
2
In the right pane, on the Resources tab, click
New
.
3
In the Resource Properties dialog box, on the General tab, do the following:
Resource name
Type a name for the link.
Display name
Type a name for the category under which the resource QuickLink will be listed.
URL
Type a URL for the resource.
If the user does not have permission to access the URL, it does not appear on the user
home page.
