Yellow Alarm and Multiframe Yellow Alarm Generation

These READ/WRITE bit-fields activate and deactivate the transmission
of yellow alarm. The Yellow alarm and multiframe Yellow alarm data
pattern can be inserted either by automatically upon detection of the
loss of alignment or by controlling the YEL bits. Setting these bits to
b01 will enable automatic yellow alarm transmission in response to a
loss of frame alignment (FAS red alarm) as well as the multiframe yel-
low alarm transmission in response to a loss of multiframe alignment
(CAS red alarm). The decoding of these bits are explained as follows:

These Read/Write bit-fields are used to specify the types of AIS pattern
that the transmit E1 framer block will generate, as described in the
table below.

Yellow Alarm transmission is disabled.

Automatic Yellow Alarm is enabled

The following will happen upon receiver detecting loss of
FAS alignment or loss of CAS multiframe alignment.

When Loss of FAS Alignment Occurs:

1.

Yellow alarm bit (bit 3 of non-FAS frames in
TimeSlot 0) is transmitted upon receive detecting
loss of FAS alignment. Logic one is transmitted in
this bit if loss of FAS alignment occurred.

When Loss of CAS Multiframe Alignment Occurs:

1.

The multiframe yellow alarm bit (bit 6 of frame 0 in
Timeslot 16) is transmitted upon receiver detecting
loss of CAS Multiframe Alignment. Logic one is
transmitted in this bit if Loss of CAS Multiframe
Alignment occurred.
