Acquisition Options
This Acquisition Options provides access for changing the acquisition and calibration
parameters.
Acquisition Settings
The Acquisition settings activates the dialog for the current Input number displayed
in the Acquisition Panel. For Input #1 the acquisition settings for PHA, MSS, LIST,
TLIST, and DLFC will be activated. For Input #2, the acquisition settings for MCS
will be activated. The settings dialog will readjust dynamically depending on the
various acquisition modes for Input #1. For example, LIST/TLIST will require
different settings than PHA or MSS.
Input #1 LIST/TLIST is not fully compatible when input #2 MCS. You cannot start
acquisition on input #2 when input #1 is acquiring LIST/TLIST data. The same is
true when input#2 is actively acquiring MCS data.
Acquisition Mode
This setting determines the mode of acquisition for the selected Input. Please refer to
Acquisition Modes and Acquisition Units
on page 5 for information on various
acquisition modes supported by the Lynx.
Acquisition mode for Input #1 can be set to PHA, DLFC, MSS, LIST, and TLIST.
Acquisition mode for Input #2 can be set to MCS. Where applicable, the settings will
adjust dynamically as the mode is selected.
Changing the Acquisition mode will clear the respective spectrum data and elapsed
values.
Input Size
The Input size determines the amount of acquisition memory, in number of channels
that the Lynx assigns to the currently selected Input number. The value can range
from 256 channels to 32 768 channels. Each channel can store up to 2
32
-1 (approx.
4.29B) counts.
For Input #1, the Input Size represents the number of channels, or granularity, of the
digitized PHA value over the full energy range of the input signal.
For Input #2, the Input Size represents the number of channels, or sequential bins,
into which the time-correlated data (based on the current dwell time) will be stored
into.
