Setting Up RAS for a Serial Connection
For simplicity, a wired RS-232 connection is also referred to as a Serial connection.
If using an External Modem with Lynx, please refer to the next section, specifically
for the Modem setup; refer to
Setting Up a Modem Connection
on page 178.
Default RAS General Options
The General factory-default options for RAS are as follows:

Enable:

(RAS in Lynx is enabled by default)

Media setting (
Serial Line

) for RAS is

. This affects the manner
in which Windows will interact with Lynx for its setup. If you change this setting,
your Windows steps may differ somewhat from the examples given.
Even though RAS defaults to enabled, there is no 'default' operation available to
establish an initial connection; RAS must be configured before this service will be
functional.
Default RAS Parameters for Lynx
Network and RAS Account factory-defaults settings in Lynx that must be used to
establish an initial RAS connection are as follows:

The default RAS User Account ID is
