Using RAS for the Serial (RS-232) Setup
Windows XP
Complete the following steps:
1.
Connect your Null Modem Cable between the RS-232 connectors on the
Lynx and the PC.
2.
On your PC, access Network Connections and select the icon for 'Lynx'. One
method to do so is:

Lynx
3.
Enter the RAS User Name you've set up: type
user
in the User Name field
and
password
in the Password field, then click
Connect
.

Reminder: These Lynx settings for RAS may be changed at Lynx Menu
Network | RAS tab in the Accounts section, as the User Name
and Password entries.
You should be connected to the Lynx at this point, and should see the Lynx login
page as described in the chapter

starting on page 71.
Windows 7
The Direct Serial Connection to the Lynx is not supported under Windows 7. Please
use the Direct Ethernet connection using the “crossover” cable to establish a
connection to the Lynx. See
Preferred Setup - Wired IP Network
on page 151.
