H. Updating Lynx Firmware from
Previous Versions to V1.5.x.x
Updating Lynx firmware from versions earlier than 1.5 can be performed using the
Firmware Updater utility described in Method 1 or by using the bootloader process
described as Method 2.
Important
Note
:
The Lynx network parameters will be reset to default when updating the
Lynx Firmware from V1.2 and earlier. Record your network settings before
beginning the upgrade procedure. After updating firmware 1.2.1 -> 1.5, the
acquisition LED may come up Yellow (Fault): “Parameter storage area
contained invalid data and required complete initialization. Any values
previously stored in the battery-backed memory have been reset to default
state.”
Method 1: Update Firmware via Firmware Updater
Utility
Firmware Updater utility can be used in two ways: as a batch file and as an EXE file
with command line.
Important
Note
:
This utility is only supported using a Windows-10 PC build 1809 or later.
Pre-Installation
Prior to using the firmware update utility, close all browsers that currently have Lynx
web page opened.
If the Lynx administrator password was changed from the supplied Factory Defaults,
the Firmware Updater utility must be used with EXE file, command line, and -u and -
p switches to specify user id and password.
Prior to using the utility, it is strongly recommended to stop acquisitions on both
inputs, turn off the high voltage, stabilizer, and SCA(s).
