5.7 Using the "Wash" Function
To improve visibility within the joint, activate the "Wash" function.
• The "Wash time" can be set for 10 to 30 seconds at intervals of 5 (see 7 "User
Menu").
• The pressure increase is adjustable from 10-100% but is also limited to a max.
value of 200 mm Hg (factory setting = 50%).
• The flow increase amounts to 0.5 l/min, limited to a max. of 3 l/min.
Starting the "Wash" function
1. While the device is running, press the "Wash" function field (Fig. 5-1 "Device
Front",

) on the touch panel.
2. The "Wash" function is activated for the duration set in the user menu.
3. The function display depicts Wash . This display supersedes the "normal" op-
erating displays depicted during the device function.
Stopping the "Wash" function The pump automatically returns to the previously set operating values after the
specified
"Wash time" has expired.
To end the "Wash" function before the set time expires, press the "Wash" func-
tion field of the touch panel again. This returns the pump immediately to the pre-
viously set operating values.
5.8 Using the "Turbo" Function
To improve visibility within the joint, activate the "Turbo" function. This is helpful
under difficult surgical conditions such as the so-called SAD (subacromial ar-
throscopic decompression).
CAUTION!
The "Turbo" function is not designed for arthroscopies in small joints.
• The "Turbo time" is 2 minutes and can be stopped any time.
• The flow increase amounts to 0.5 l/min and is depicted in the max. flow rate
display (Fig. 5-1 "Device Front",

).
• The "Turbo" function cannot be activated as long as the "Wash" function is
used.
• The "Wash" function cannot be activated as long as the "Turbo" function is
used.
Starting the "Turbo" function
1. While the device is running, press the "Turbo" function field (Fig. 5-1 "Device
Front",

) on the touch panel.
2. The function display of the device depicts "Turbo" . This display supersedes
the "normal" operating displays depicted during the device function.
Stopping the "Turbo" function The "Turbo" function is automatically stopped after 2 minutes. While the device
is running, press the "Turbo" function field to stop the function before the "Tur-
bo" time expires. This returns the pump immediately to the previously set oper-
ating values.
