2–8 • Control Panel Introduction
Synergy Series Operation Guide (v18)
12. Preview Overlay Group
The
Preview Overlay Group
allows you to control specific
overlay
information that is
displayed on the preview monitor, such as VTR time code, a count up/down timer,
source ID, safe title, etc. Displays are individually selectable on the preview monitor for
quick reference. The
Preview Overlay
option must be installed.
On the Synergy 3 and 4 panels, the layout and location of the group is identical. On the
Synergy 2 panel, the group is located within the
Global Memory System
for
compactness.
13. Fade to Black Group
The buttons in the
Fade to Black Group
allow you to fade or cut the switcher to black
— electronically downstream of the two DSKs. A display within the group indicates the
current fade-to-black transition rate (in frames). On the Synergy 3 and 4 panels, the
layout and location of the group is identical. On the Synergy 2 panel, the group is
located above MLE 1’s
Key 2
group.
14. Mnemonic Displays
The optional
Mnemonic Display
groups (only available on Synergy 2003 edition
panels) are used to show the names of crosspoint inputs and Custom Control buttons and
banks. A variety of colors and font sizes are available for default appearance. Individual
displays can be further customized to suit specific requirements. Names of inputs can
have the shifted and non-shifted labels displayed.
15. MLE Transition Group
The
MLE Transition Group
allows you to select the type of transition that you want to
perform between the
BKGD
and
PST
buses in the selected MLE. You can transition
any combination
of the MLE’s background buses (
BKGD
/
PST
), Keyer 1 or Keyer 2
using a cut, a wipe or a dissolve. If the
DVE Send and Remote Control Option
is
installed, the
DVE SEND
button assigns control of your
primary
DVE to the MLE in
which the button is pressed — allowing you to perform
DVE Send
transitions using the
primary DVE’s effects.
Transitions can be performed manually with the
Fader
or automatically with the
AUTO
TRANS
button. A display above the
Fader
or in the
MLE Memory Group
indicates
the MLE’s current auto transition rate (in frames).
The layout of the
MLE Transition Group
is identical on all three switchers — in all
MLEs. On the Synergy 3 and 4 control panels, the location of the group is offset on
different MLEs for operational convenience.
16. MLE Key 1 Group
The
MLE Key 1 Group
allows you to select the key type and associated parameters for
the MLE’s Key 1. Choose between
Self Key
,
Auto Select
(Linear Key),
Chroma Key
,
and
PST Pattern Key
. Within the group, you can also select a variety of parameters and
key transitions. When any button is selected in the group, that MLE’s
Key Bus
is
assigned to Keyer 1. An
ON
LED is provided for tally.
