2. Set up the desired key type and source, and clip the key using the controls in the Effects
Control group.
3. In the selected MLE keyer (or Downstream keyer), press
BORD
or
OUTL
to enable
the border generator. The Border Menu is displayed on the display.
4. Press
CENTER
in the Positioner group to reset all border parameters to their default
values. This step is an excellent starting point when adjusting borders, shadows and
outlines.
5. Press the
Position
softkey to adjust border position and width.

6. Use the display’s top, middle, and bottom knobs to adjust horizontal position, vertical
position and width, respectively. You can also use the Positioner to adjust the
parameters:
• Move the Positioner left and right to adjust horizontal position.
• Move the Positioner up and down to adjust vertical position.
• Twist the Positioner’s top knob to adjust width. You can also use the WIDTH knob
in the Effects Control group.
7. Press
Glow & Density
to adjust border softness and transparency.

8. Use the display’s top and middle knobs to adjust glow (softness) and density,
respectively. You can also use the Positioner or the two controls in the Effects Control
group to adjust the parameters:
• Move the Positioner left and right to adjust the glow, from hard edge to soft edge.
You can also use the GLOW knob in the Effects Control group.
• Move the Positioner up and down to adjust density (from opaque to fully
transparent). You can also use the DENSITY knob in the Effects Control group.
Operating
Tip
To create the widest possible border, set both the WIDTH and GLOW
controls to their maximum settings.
