Performing an Effects Dissolve
Use the following procedure to perform an Effects Dissolve :
1. On an MLE, program an effect with the intention of performing an Effects Dissolve —
that is, a change between two different analog settings (e.g., a wipe in two positions, a
border with two unique colors, two different “fly key” positions, etc.).
2. Enter the desired transition rate in the MLE. Refer to the section “ Changing MLE Auto
Transition Rates ” on page 5–12 for instructions.
3. Store the effect in the desired memory register. Refer to the “ Storing Registers using
the MLE Memory Group ” section for instructions. Remember that the transition rate
determines the duration of the Effects Dissolve — how long it takes to slew to this
setup .
4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 for the second effect (remember that two setups are required to
perform an effects dissolve — essentially, a source effect and a destination effect).
5. Recall the first setup from memory into the MLE. Refer to the section “ Recalling
Registers using the MLE Memory Group ” on page 8–14 for details.
6. To perform the Effects Dissolve , press
EFF DISS
and recall the second setup from
memory into the MLE. The system first recalls all non-dissolving values (with a cut) and
then slews all analog values.
7. Repeat step 6 if you want to slew back to the first setup , or to any additional registers
that have been properly stored in preparation for the Effects Dissolve function. You can
slew or cut between as many setups as desired, simply governed by the
EFF DISS
button and the way that the effect was programmed.
This completes the procedure to perform an Effects Dissolve .
