Synergy Series Operation Guide (v18)
4. Perform a transition with the
Fader
,
AUTO TRANS
, or
CUT
. The program transitions
to black. Note that when black is reached, the switcher presets the previous scene (from
step 2), which also is displayed on
Preview
.
5. Perform a second transition using the
Fader
,
AUTO TRANS
, or
CUT
. The switcher
transitions to the previous scene, at the end of which the
PST BLACK
light turns off.
This completes the procedure to perform a
Preset Black
transition.
White Flash
White Flash is a single button effect that allows you to set the flash color and timing of a transition.
Once enabled, this effect performs a double transition from
PGM
to
White Flash
to
PST
using a free
background color generator to produce the White Flash instead of Preset Black. This is achieved by
enabling the White Flash effect, setting the color and timing of the transition and using the
PST
BLACK
button in the
Program/Preset Transition Group
.
Use the following procedure to configure the White Flash effect:
1. Navigate to the
Personality Menu 3-4
as follows:
•
Press

2. Toggle the

softkey to

to display the

3. Set the timing of the White Flash as follows:
•
Use the
Onset Rate
knob to set the transition rate (0 to 150 frames) from
PGM
to
the White Flash.
•
Use the
Hold Time
knob to set the length (in number of frames) of the White Flash
before fading out.
•
Use the
Fade Rate
knob to set the transition rate from the White Flash to
PST
.
Operating
Tip
After Step 3, a
different source
other than black can be selected on
PST
. This would allow you to dip to, say,
COLOR BKGD
(white, for
example), for a creative “flash-frame” transition. In addition,
BLACK
can be
permanently
overridden by holding down the
PST BLACK
button while selecting the desired source on the
PST
bus. This
override can be stored to a storage device, such as a floppy disk or
USB key, in the
Personality
register.
Note
White Flash differs from Preset Black in that it automatically performs
the transition when
PST BLACK
is pressed.
