7. Disconnect the fuel lines at the inlet and
outlet ports at the top of the cooling plate
(Figure 464) and position the lines
out-of-way.
Use care when disconnecting the fuel lines to
avoid putting stress on the plate fittings and
damaging the plate. Use two wrenches, one to
support the plate fitting and the second to
disconnect the line.

8. Loosen the two retaining nuts securing the
plate support bracket to the mounting studs
on top of the coolant manifold. The bracket
has slotted attachment points so the
retaining nuts need only to be loosened and
not removed.
9. Remove the two retaining nuts from the
mounting studs at the bottom of the cooling
plate and remove cooling plate assembly.
The EGR MASS Flow module is attached at the
back side of the cooling plate with mounting
screws.
EECU and Cooling Plate Installation

1. Check to make sure that the rubber
insulators are in position on the mounting
studs at the inlet and coolant manifold
positions.
2. Place the cooling plate in position over the
mounting studs and install the retaining nuts.
Tighten the nuts to specification.
3. Connect the fuel lines to the inlet and outlet
ports of the cooling plate (Figure 464).
4. Connect the wiring harness leads to the
EGR MASS Flow module (Figure 463).
5. Make sure the cooling plate and EECU
mating surfaces are clean. Place the EECU
in position on the cooling plate and install
the eight retaining bolts. Tighten the bolts to
specification (Figure 462).
6. Reinstall the bolt securing the EECU wiring
harness clamps to the EECU cooling plate
bracket (Figure 461).
7. Connect the wiring harness to the EECU
(Figure 461).
