SET UP/QUERY
INPUT/OUTPUT FUNCTION LINE NUMBERS
If PCX software is not being used, the I/O lines can still be assigned through direct serial
commands. These commands are sent to the drive by any ASCII serial device via the serial A
connector. The serial commands for I/O assignment are given below:
IFXX=L,
where “XX” is the input function number (0-26)
where “L” is the input line number (1-8)
OFYY=L,
where “YY” is the output function number (0-11)
Where “L” is the input line number (9-12)
IFXX=0,
will unassign input function “XX”
OFYY=0,
will unassign output function “YY”
To set input function polarity use the following commands.
IPXX=0,
normally OFF default, where “XX” = input function number
IPXX=1,
normally ON default, where “XX” = input function number
For example, to assign a Stop function to input line number 4. Using the ASCII serial device,
type:
IF11=4,
where 11 = Stop function and 4 = input line 4.
The following notes are important to remember while the I/O lines are being assigned.
1.
If the clear index/clear home outputs are not assigned the outputs will clear on the next
commanded motion.
2.
If the clear to initiate input is not assigned the only safeguard on re-initiation of short
indexes is that the initiate must go off before another one will be accepted.
3.
More than one input may be assigned to the same line such as Jog CW/Slow, or Clear
Index Output/Clear Home Output.
4.
The clear fault input duplicates the function of the pushbutton.
