High AC Line
If the AC input to the drive is in excess of 264 VAC, this indicator comes on. Voltages
in excess of 264 VAC can also cause catastrophic drive failures.
Possible causes of the fault:
1.
AC line voltage over 264 VAC.
( )
Low AC Line
If the AC input to the drive is under 196 VAC this indicator comes on.
Possible causes of the fault:
1.
AC voltage to drive too low (196 VAC or less).
2.
During high current load conditions, the AC voltage drops below 196 VAC. This
could be because the VA rating of the voltage source is too low or the AC power
wiring is inadequate.

High DC Bus (Shunt Regulator)
During deceleration of a motor the load energy is transferred from the load back to the
drives DC BUS. The result of this energy transfer is that the DC BUS can charge to
voltage levels beyond its normal operating range. Excess voltages are internally sensed
and once detected, enable a shunt regulator. This shunt regulator dissipates the unwanted
energy in an internal shunt load in such a way as to discharge the unwanted BUS over
voltage condition.
For most applications, there is no problem. In applications where load inertia becomes
substantial during decel, the internal shunt can only dissipate so much energy and then
the shunt fuse goes. The solution isn’t to stick in a bigger fuse, the solution is to use the
external shunt loads.
