This packet item is used in conjunction with the "APPLY TO DATA FIELD" item. Continuous
data fields can be applied to the field function and index number. See the parallel programming
example for more detail.

THUMBWHEEL EXAMPLE

In this typical application, an Emerson thumbwheel is being used to set up index velocity and
distance. Two data fields are needed; field 0 and 1.
