Jog Commands
COMMAND TYPE OF COMMAND
DESCRIPTION
JG
EXECUTION/SET UP/QUERY
JOG
When used as an execution command, "JG" will start Job motion at the current serial Jog
velocity.
As a setup command, "JG" sets the current serial Jog velocity. If the drive is already executing a
serial Jog when a new serial Jog velocity is issued, the drive will ramp to the new velocity.
Serial Jog velocity is a signed quantity in rpm.
JF/JS
EXECUTION/SET UP/QUERY
JOG FAST/SLOW
When used as an execution command, "JF" and "JS" will start Jog motion at the current fast Jog
or slow Jog velocity respectively. The direction for the Jog may be specified by adding a "+"
(clockwise) or "-" (counterclockwise) after the command. If no direction is specified, clockwise
motion will be assumed.
As setup commands "JF" sets the fast Jog velocity and "JS" set the slow Jog velocity in unsigned
rpm. If the velocity is changed while executing the appropriate Jog, the drive will ramp to the
new velocity.
JA/JD
SET UP/QUERY
JOG ACCEL/DECEL RAMPS
Sets the acceleration/deceleration ramp slopes to be used for Jog motion. The ramps are
programmed in milliseconds to maximum system velocity.
SJ
EXECUTION ONLY
JOG STOP
Stops Jog motion along with Jog decel ramp slope. This command is an alternative to the "ST"
command which is usually programmed with a faster deceleration slope.
JL
SET UP/QUERY
POWER UP JOG LOCK
Selects whether the power up Jog Lock feature of the drive is enabled (JL=1) or disabled (JL=0).
When enabled, jogging will not be allowed after power up until a home cycle has been
successfully completed.
