INSTALLATION AND CONNECTIONS OF PCM-5
INTRODUCTION
The PCM-5 allows for memory and I/O expansion, program storage and synchronization of an
axis or multiple axis to an external lead axis. The installation of the PCM-5 module is made easy
by a direct “plug-in” design. All the electrical connections between the basic digital drive and
either module are made via the 48 position connectors. Figure 60 shows where the 48-pin
connectors mates on the Positioning Drive. This is the only electrical connection required
between the two units. Once plugged in, the top and bottom handles snap into position to secure
the module to the drive.

PCM-5 Installation & Connections
The input and output connections are split between two terminal strips; one strip on the PCM
module #13-24 and one on the digital drive #1-12. Each strip consists of 8 input lines and 4
output lines.
