INDEX NUMBER
*The field function is applied with another data field. Data entered in the other field would be
used with the field function. The field function data field would usually be setup as a two digit
field.

Index Number
FIRST DIGIT IN DATA FIELD
This packet item specifies where the data field is to start. Left most digits start at number 0. On
Emerson thumbwheels, simply count any leading blank digits from the left to determine the start
of the data field.
NUMBER OF DIGITS IN DATA FIELD
This packet item simply specifies how many digits the field data consists of.
DATA FIELD MULTIPLIER
This packet item may be used to add zero's to the right of the data entered. This may be useful if
digits need to be conserved and the data resolution is not critical. For example, Accel times may
be entered from 0 to 65.535 seconds. If it is only necessary to make steps of 1 second or more,
use only 2 digits (Number of Digits) with a multiplier of 1000.
APPLY TO INDEX NUMBER
This packet item specifies the first index to apply the data field to.
NUMBER OF ADDITIONAL INDEX
This packet item is used in conjunction with the "APPLY TO INDEX NUMBER" item. It
specifies how many more indexes, from the starting index, that the data field is to apply to (if
any).
APPLY TO DATA FIELD
Some data field purposes (field function and Index Number) require a corresponding data field
for additional information. When this is needed, enter a data field number from 0 to 7.
