SERIAL INTERFACE CONTROL

Most major programmable logic controllers (PLCs) are available with user programmable Basic
or ASCII communications modules allowing the user to easily program and transmit serial
commands or programming data to other serial devices. The positioning Drive's RS423 serial
interface provides a direct connection to these PLC modules for programming and control. In
addition, the capability of this serial interface to be multi-dropped to as many as 31 axes of
drives, plus the use of the optically isolated inputs and outputs on each drive, provides an easy
method to accomplish multiple axis positioning control.
