BI-POLAR SYNCHRONIZATION

A special feature of the PCM-5 is Bi-Polar Synchronization. The added input enables this mode.
In this mode of operation a complete bi-polar mode of following exists between the lead axis and
follower axis. In other words, clockwise rotation of the lead axis causes CW rotation of the
follower drive motor and CCW rotation causes CCW motor motion. The ratio between the two
is programmable by the value of the sync ratio in the drive parameter setup with PCX. The
range is (.125 to 20) turns of the follower axis to 1 turn of the lead axis. The lead axis can be
either an external encoder or digital drive.
