Once deselected, you may activate those  
inputs in the Slate I/O Assignments window,  
see section 1.4

 If you are combining 16x9 and 4x3 sources, 

then you may want to treat the aspect ratio for 
each input. Under the 

Aspect column

4x3

16x9.

or 

Crop.
