4.4.3 Direct Key Controls
The Direct Key buttons are the six buttons located to the right of each transition section
in each ME. They correspond to Key 1 through Key 6, as shown below. In addition to
On/Off functionality, these buttons provide a handy place to always see key status,
including:
What channel is assigned to this
keyer is shown by the number
(e.g. Channel 1)
Whether the Key is
On Program: Red
On Preview: Orange
Assigned/Selected: Green
Tally status shows whether a keyer is on or off air for that particular keyer. If a keyer is on
air in ME 1 and then ME 1 is put on air in ME 2, only the ME 1 Direct Key buttons will
illuminate red, since they are part of the ME 1 composition. Since all 6 keyers are
universal the content is the same in both MEs. The ME 1 Direct Keys buttons show tally
status for ME 1, whereas the ME 2 Direct Key buttons show tally and content
information.
To Manually Bring a Key On Program:
1.
Any key that is off (green or orange), can be
brought on program by pressing its
[Direct Key
Button]
. This will cause this key to fade on at
the rate for that keyer, and the button will
change color to red.
To Manually Take a Key Off Program:
1.
Any key that is on-air (red), can be taken off
program by pressing its
[Direct Key Button]
.
This will cause this key to fade off at the rate
for that keyer, and the button will change color,
from red to green (or orange if its key transition
button is on).
