Holding this key and pressing channel “Select” keys will cause multiple channels to
be “Selected”. All the channels thus selected will transmit when the transmit key is
pressed and all their received audio will be routed to the “Select” speaker. This same
procedure can be used to deselect currently selected channels, i.e.; this function acts
as a toggle.

The Group keys allow channels to be “Grouped” together so that a single key can
perform a “Select” or “Instant Transmit” on several channels simultaneously. Choose
from the menu shown in Figure D-15 to select the desired group key option.
When a multi-frequency channel is enabled in the Group Select window, an
additional menu is presented to allow for the selection of a unique Remote TX
Function appropriate for that type of channel (F1-F8 or Custom DC/Tone). The first
choice in these menus is always “None”, allowing the Remote TX Function to remain
unchanged. If any other choice is made, it immediately takes effect when the key is
pressed on the console and it remains in effect until changed, updating the appropriate
LED annunciators.

The group select key allows a set of predefined channels to be selected with a single
key. Use the GROUP SELECT menu shown in Figure D-16 to add or delete a
channel for this group. Several group keys may be defined. A channel may be a
member of several different groups. If a channel has not been defined, it will not
appear in the GROUP SELECT menu.
The menu in Figure D-16 shows that channels 2 and 4 will be selected when this key is
pressed.
