From the following list, select the mic source that will be used when a “soft” transmit key is
pressed and then press
ENTER
.
Always use Deskmic or Gooseneck mic when instant Xmit is pressed.
Always use Handset or Headset mic when instant Xmit is pressed.
Spare Input #9 LOW use Deskmic or Gooseneck, HI use Handset or Headset when
instant Xmit is pressed.
If Electret PTT and Hookswitch are closed, use Handset. If Hookswitch is open, use
Deskmic.
Refer to Table 4-3 for a more thorough explanation of audio steering.
Note: External
transmit
switches are not affected.
Select option
B
to set the lamp display mode for selected Instant Select and Frequency Select
keys. Then from the next menu, choose option
A
to select a blinking green lamp or
B
for a
solid green lamp.
Select option
C
to set the duration the Call lamp remains on after the received audio stops.
Enter a value from 0 to 60 in the next window. Note that this time duration is in addition to
the hardware delay that is always present (approximately 2.3 seconds).
Select option
D
to set the physical device assigned to the D mic input. Select Gooseneck or
Deskmic from the next menu.
Press the
ESC
key to return to the MAIN EDIT menu.

1. “D” Mic - Desktop mic
2. “E” Mic - Headset or handset
3. “Aux” In - Auxiliary input
4. “GN” - Gooseneck mic
B.
There are four methods of turning on the audio:
1. D PTT - Desktop mic
2. E PTT - Headset or foot switch
3. A PTT - Auxiliary input
4. “Soft” Transmit Keys
C.
There are four software selectable audio steering options:
1. Always D Mic
2. Always E Mic
3. Input #9 steered (mic switch, connector J1)
4. Hookswitch (HSW) signal steered (handset cradle)
