INTRODUCTION
This section is organized to provide more detailed information on program operation.
Reading this section is most useful after you are familiar with CPS. This section covers the
nine main activities of program operation:

READING A SYSTEM CONFIGURATION FILE
Normally the first operation performed after starting CPS is reading a system configuration
file from the disk to the edit buffer. A system configuration contains all of the key definitions
for the two programmable Model 4010 panels and all channels. After editing the
configuration, it is written back to the disk using the Write function.
To read a configuration file, press
R
from the MAIN menu, shown in Figure 4-1.

Selecting a File to Read
Pressing
R
from the MAIN menu displays the Read File Select window. The program fills
the window with a list of configuration files that were found in the current drive and
directory. The current drive and directory can be changed using the Drive function. Using the
UP
and
DOWN ARROW
keys, position the cursor on the file you wish to read. After
positioning the cursor, press
ENTER
. The file will be read into the program, and the windows
will be removed from the screen.
