3. TUTORIAL
INTRODUCTION
This section presents the essential steps needed to run CPS to program a Model 4010.
Information about starting the program and navigating through the menus is followed by a
step-by-step tutorial that will quickly show you how to create a new channel, define, move
and copy console keys, and print reports. How to quit the program is explained at the end of
this section.
RUNNING CPS
If you have a floppy diskette system, insert the diskette labeled “Zetron Model 4010 CPS”
into drive A:. Make A: the default drive and start running CPS by typing:
A: <ENTER>
4010 <ENTER>
If you have a fixed disk system, just type:
CD \CPS <ENTER>
4010 <ENTER>
The program is now loaded and begins by clearing the screen and displaying the MAIN
menu.
CPS MENU AND DATA EDITING KEYS
Before you program your first key on the console, read the following information on how the
menus operate and how to edit data in the fields.
Using Menus
The CPS is a menu-driven program, so every task is performed by selecting options from
menus. The options are listed below each menu item when it is selected. Each option consists
of a descriptive phrase, preceded by a letter or a number. The active menu option is
highlighted by an inverse bar.
There are three ways to select menu options:
1.
Type the letter or number that precedes the descriptive phrase.
2.
If there is no letter or number preceding a menu option, then type the first letter of the
descriptive phrase.
3.
Use the
UP ARROW
or
DOWN ARROW
to move the highlighted menu bar to the
desired selection and press
ENTER
.
