Several windows will now be removed from the screen and you can now select another key
to define. Program the key directly under the frequency select F2 key to be a frequency select
F1 key for channel 1.
Moving Console Keys
Using the move key function, you can now correct the transposition of the frequency select
keys.
Move the highlighted key to the position occupied by the frequency select F2 key and press
ENTER
.
Select the Move function and press
ENTER
.
Notice the “X” on the key has changed to an “M”; this reminds you that this is the key being
moved.
Move the highlighted key to the position occupied by the frequency select F1 key and press
ENTER
.
Because the position you wanted to move the key to is already defined, a menu pops up and
asks if you wish to delete the key or exchange the key. In this case you want to exchange the
keys, so move the menu bar to the “Exchange Key” option and press
ENTER
.
Now the frequency select keys are in their correct locations.
The next keys to be defined are Volume Adjust and Volume Mute. They are programmed in
much the same manner as the previous keys you have defined.
For the Volume Adjust, position the highlighted key to the key directly under frequency
select F2 key and press
ENTER
.
Select Channel Functions from the KEY FUNCTIONS menu.
Select channel 1, then select “G. Volume Keys” from the CHANNEL FUNCTIONS menu,
and then select “A. Volume Adjust”.
The Volume Mute key goes directly under the Volume Adjust key. Follow the steps used to
define the Volume Adjust key except for the last step: select option “E. Volume Mute” from
the VOLUME KEY menu.
The last key left to define is the Instant Transmit key. This key is a channel function. Using
the process that you used to define the other channel functions, define the Instant Transmit
key for use on channel 1.
Copying Console Keys
For this tutorial, suppose that you want the keys that control channel 2 to be programmed just
like the keys for channel 1. You can go back through the steps you used to program the keys
