14. OPTIONAL TRAY PBA
This section describes the function of each circuit on the Optional tray PBA.
The Optional tray PBA is built in the optional recording paper tray which can be installed by up
to two on this machine. The Optional tray PBA consists of the Optional tray MPU (IC1) as the
central component. It detects the presence or absence of recording paper placed in the tray
and its size and drives the optional paper tray motor and the optional paper pickup solenoid.
The Optional tray PBA is connected to CN20 on the MOTHER PBA.
Selection of an optional recording paper tray for issuing the recording paper feed command
and communicating the status is made according to the CMD2 signal output from the I/OP-2
GA (IC48). The middle-row (or one tray only is installed) is selected when the CMD2 signal is
at LOW level, and the lower-row when at HIGH level.
The status of the optional recording paper tray is detected by detecting the output of each
sensor connected to the Optional tray PBA by the Optional tray MPU and sending its detected
result to the I/OP-2 GA as the STA1-3 signals.
