CONTROLS
Verify the gear case is in the neutral position by rotating
the propeller shaft [1] by hand and checking for free,
quiet rotation. Use gloves to protect your hands.
If the gear case is not in the neutral position,
temporarily lower shift shaft B [2] until it engages with
shift shaft A. Use an open end wrench to rotate shift
shaft B slightly right or left until neutral is obtained in the
gear case.
Lift up and disengage shift shaft B [1] from shift shaft A
[2]. Position shift shaft B so the flat sides are facing
straight forward [3]. Lower shift shaft B slowly to engage
the gear on shift shaft A.
This will put the alignment marks [4] on shift shafts A
and B in the correct position as shown.
