LUBRICATION SYSTEM
ASSEMBLY
Apply liquid sealant (Threebond ® #1216 or equivalent)
to the threads of the two sealing bolts [1].
• To prevent leaks, do not install the parts if 5 minutes
or more have elapsed since applying the liquid
gasket. Instead, reapply liquid gasket after removing
the old residue.
• After assembly, wait at least 30 minutes before filling
the engine with oil.
Install and tighten the sealing bolts to the specified
torque.
Apply a locking agent (Hondalock 2 or equivalent) to the
threaded part of the oil pump sealing bolt [1].
Check the relief valve [2] surface for damage before
installation.
Apply engine oil to the relief valve and relief spring [3].
Install the relief valve and relief valve spring, and
tighten the sealing bolt to the specified torque.
Clean the inner rotor [1] and outer rotor [2] thoroughly.
Apply engine oil to the inner rotor, outer rotor, and
pump body, and set them to the oil pump body.
Install the rotors in the same direction as when they
were removed.
Install the dowel pins [1] and oil pump cover [2], and
tighten the eight flat screws (6 x 16 mm) [3] to the
specified torque.
Make sure the rotor moves smoothly after
reassembling.
TORQUE: 49 N·m (5.0 kgf·m, 36 lbf·ft)
