CHARGING SYSTEM
ROTOR
Check to be sure that there is continuity between the
slip rings [1].
Check to see that there is no continuity between a slip
ring and the rotor [2], and between a slip ring and the
rotor shaft [3].
Measure the slip ring O.D.
If the measurement is less than the service limit,
replace the rotor.
STATOR
• Inspect the stator by removing it from the alternator.
Verify there is continuity between the wires [1].
Verify there is no continuity between each wire and the
stator core [2].
STANDARD:
14.2 – 14.4 mm (0.56 – 0.57 in)
SERVICE LIMIT: 13.8 mm (0.54 in)
