GEAR CASE (STANDARD ROTATION)
Install the trim tab [1] by aligning the " " marks [2].
(single motor type)
Install the gear case cover [3]. (dual motor type)
Install and tighten the bolt/washer (10 x 32 mm) [4].
After installing the gear case, adjust the shift control
cable (page 20-3).
VERTICAL SHAFT BUSHING
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (XA and
XXA types)
Remove the gear case (page 16-8).
Remove the extension separator (XXA type: page 16-
8).
Remove the internal circlip [1], washer (30 mm) [2], and
vertical shaft bushing [3].
Inspect the vertical shaft bushing I.D. (page 16-48).
Replace the vertical shaft bushing if necessary.
Install the vertical shaft bushing to the extension case
with the groove [4] facing the gear case side.
Apply marine grease to the inside of vertical shaft
bushing.
Install the washer and set the internal circlip.
Install the extension separator (XXA type: page 16-9).
Install the gear case (page 16-9).
