COOLING SYSTEM
Install a new sealing washer [1] to the sealing bolt [2].
Cover the sealing bolt threads with sealing tape.
Starting from the top, wrap it counterclockwise 1-1/4 to
1-1/2 turn as shown [3].
• Do not use sealant, as it may protrude between
anode metal and cylinder block, preventing
continuity.
• Install sealing tape as shown [4]. Tape covering the
sealing bolt flange will prevent continuity.
Install and tighten the sealing bolt.
Check the continuity between the anode [1] and
cylinder block.
Perform a continuity inspection between the anode
metal surface without corrosion and the bare aluminum
surface of the cylinder block or the bolt/nut.
If there is no continuity, remove the sealing bolt and
sealing tape, and reinstall the sealing tape properly.
If there is no continuity, replace the screw, anode metal,
sealing bolt with new one as a set.
Install the exhaust manifold (page 5-96).
