GEAR CASE (COUNTER ROTATION)
PROPELLER SHAFT INSTALLATION
Apply soapy water to the outer circumference of new
water seals (30 x 45 x 7 mm) [1].
Drive the water seals one by one into the propeller shaft
holder [2] using the special tool. Note the installation
direction of the water seals.
• Replace the water seals with the new ones on
assembly.
After installation of the water seals, apply marine
grease to the water seal lips [4].
Apply marine grease to the circumference of a new O-
ring [1], and install it on the propeller shaft holder [2].
Install the thrust bearing washer [3] with the chamfered
side [4] toward the propeller shaft holder.
TOOL:
Oil seal driver, 44.5 mm [3]
