GEAR CASE (STANDARD ROTATION)
INSTALLATION
Apply marine grease to the extension case grommet [1]
inner surface and install it to the extension case [2].
Install the drain plug rubber [3], two dowel pins [4] and
two special bolts (6 x 12 mm) [5] to the extension case.
Install the two rubbers [1] to the two lower mount
housings [2].
Install the mount case seal rubber [3] to the mount
case.
Install the extension case [4], eleven washers (12 mm)
[5] and eleven bolts (12 x 50 mm) [6].
Install the two lower rubber mounts [1] and two lower
mount stoppers [2] while holding the extension case.
Install the two bolts (14 x 180 mm) [3], two washers (14
mm) [4], and two lower mount nuts [5] and tighten them
to the specified torque.
Install the two lower mount housing [6], six washers (12
mm) [7] and six bolts (10 x 35 mm) [8].
Set the ground terminal [11] and tighten the new bolt (6
x 12 mm) [12].
Install the L./R. lower mounting covers [9] and six
special bolts (6 x 17 mm) [10].
Install and tighten the lower mounting cover screw/
washer (6 x 40 mm) [1] to the specified torque.
Install the following:
– Extension separator (XXA type: page 16-9)
– Gear case (page 16-9)
– L./R. engine under cover (page 6-3)

TORQUE: 103 N·m (10.5 kgf·m, 76 lbf·ft)
TORQUE: 4.5 N·m (0.46 kgf·m, 3.3 lbf·ft)
