Section 5.
Configuration of the Rack Unit Codec
There are several ways that you can configure your TLR300 for use. Some of the
possible configurations include:
Controlling the TLR300 1RU codec with the PC TLG3 Graphical User
Interface (GUI);
Attaching the TLR300 1RU codec to the TLR303 front panel and controlling
it in a rack;
Connecting the TLR300 1RU codec to the TLR303 front panel via a CAN to
DB 15 cable and controlling the TLR300 remotely (in a separate location to
the TLR300).
If you are using the TLG3 GUI to operate the TLR300, please see the section in this
manual titled Operation of the TLG3 GUI.
If you are using the TLR303 front panel in conjunction with the TLR300 codec and
they are not already connected, you need to follow a specific connection procedure
to connect them. Please see Appendix 2 and the section titled Connecting the Front
Panel to the 1RU Codec for the correct connection procedure.
If you are connecting the two units remotely, please see the TLR303 DB15 to
TLR300 CAN Interface Connection section within this reference manual for the
correct connection procedure and for cable configurations.
IMPORTANT WARNING:
Do not connect and supply power to the 2RU TLR303 front panel via the CAN port
on the 1RU TLR300 if you are connecting via the internal interface connection.
If the TLR303 front panel is physically separated from the 1RU TLR300 (i.e. in
another area), you will need to supply power to the front panel either via a cable
connected to the
CAN
port on the 1RU TLR300, or have a local plug pack supply 12
volts at around 500mA. Please see the TLR303 DB15 to TLR300 CAN Interface
Connection section within this reference manual for the correct connection
procedure and for cable configurations.
