Performance Check and Functional Verification Procedure

Connect the output of a Leveled Sine-W ave Generator
to the CH 1 OR X input connector via a 50 A Coaxial
C able, two 10X attenuators, and a 50 A Termination.
c.
Set the generator to produce a 50-kH z, five-division
display.
d.
Increase the generator output frequency to 5 M Hz and
set the A SE C /D IV control to 200 ns.
e.
C H E C K -D is p la y amplitude is between 4.80 and
5.05 divisions.
f.
Set the BANDW IDTH LIM IT menu to FULL. Set the
A S EC /D IV control back to 2 0 (is.
g.
Repeat parts c and d.
h.
C H E C K -D is p la y amplitude is between 4.95 and
5.05 divisions.
i.
I ncrease the generator frequency to 10 M Hz and set the
A SEC /D IV control to 50 ns.
j.
C H E C K -D is p la y amplitude is between 4.90 and
5.05 divisions.
k.
Increase the generator frequency to 30 M Hz and set the
A SEC /D IV control to 20 ns.

C H E C K -D is p la y amplitude is between 4.85 and

m. Set the CH 1 VOLTS/DIV control to 50 mV and the A
SEC /D IV to 20
ns.
Set the BANDW IDTH LIM IT menu to
20 MHz.

Remove one of the 10X attenuators from the test setup.

Repeat parts c through I.
p.
Set the CH 1 VOLTS/DIV control to 200 mV and the A
S EC /D IV control to 20 ps. Set the BANDW IDTH LIMIT
menu to 20 MHz.
q.
Remove the last 10X attenuator from the test setup.
s.
Move the 50 A Coaxial Cable from the CH 1 OR X input
connector to the CH 2 OR Y input connector. Insert the
two 10X attenuators back into the test setup.
t.
Select VERTICAL M O DE and set CH 2 on and CH 1 off.
Return the A SE C /D IV control to 20 ns.
u.
Select BANDW IDTH and set 20 M H z on.
v.
Repeat parts c through r using the CH 2 VOLTS/DIV
control.
w.
Disconnect the test setup.
11. Check Video Back-Porch Clamp (CH 2 only)
(Video Option 05 only).
a.
Recall the Initial Front-Panel Setup, labeled “FPNL”
(see step i in “INITAL SETUP" at the start of this
procedure). Make the following changes to the front-
panel setup:

Connect the output of the Sine-Wave Oscillator to the
CH 2 OR Y input connector via a 75 A Coaxial Cable.
c.
Connect the composite sync output of a Video Sync
Generator to the CH 1 OR X input connector via a 75 A
Coaxial Cable and a 75 A Termination. Select VERTI
CAL M O DE and set CH 1 off.
d.
Set the Sine-Wave Oscillator to produce a 60-Hz,
six-division display. Slightly adjust the output frequen
cy of the oscillator to stabilize the 60-H z display.
e.
Set the A S EC /D IV control to 100 p.s. Select TRIGGER
S O U R C E and set CHAN 1 12 to 1.
f.
Select SET VIDEO and set CLAMP ON | OFF to ON and
TV LINE on.
g.
C H E C K -T h e amplitude of the sine wave is 1 division
or less.
