Chapter 12 Interfaces
The printer is equipped with both a serial and a parallel interface as standard features. This
chapter provides information about both of these interfaces.
RS-232C Serial Interface
All signal levels conform to EIA RS-232C / CCITT V.24. The interface is extensively
configurable from the Printed Menu (see Chapter 4). The printed status report shows the
current setting for the serial interface when it is active.
Serial parameters that can be controlled from the Printed Menu include:
•
Baud rate
•
Character bit definition
•
Parity
•
Ready-busy control using DC1 / DC3, CA, SCA, or CD
•
Select-deselect using DC1 / DC3, CA, SCA, or CD
•
Fault reporting using DC1 / DC3, CA, SCA, or CD
•
CB (clear to send) or CC (data set ready) used to control transmission
•
Lead polarity high or low for CD, CA, SCA, CB, and CC
•
ETX (end of text) / ACK (acknowledge) protocol
•
Receive buffer size – see Chapter 4.
