Port Keyword List
Port keywords work as a filter. You can create port keywords and
associate them with -
•
Events
•
Local/remote syslog messages
•
SNMP traps
If a keyword is detected -
•
A corresponding message is logged in a local/NFS port log.
•
A corresponding event is sent via SMTP (if configured).
•
A corresponding trap is sent via SNMP (if configured).
This feature is useful for notifying administrators if a particular event
occurs on a port. Further, using port keywords to report events does not
impact the NFS log size.
In order for keywords to trigger when no users are connected to a port,
"Always Active" must be selected on the port's Port Configuration page.
Note that a list of port keywords existing, if any, is displayed on the Port
Configuration page, as well.
