Testing the
waste tee path
(continued)
Step Action
1.
Apply the syringe to the sensor luer (all valves at rest). It should not
be possible to apply a vacuum. If a vacuum can be drawn (a blockage
or restriction is noted in the tubing and/or valve ports) continue to next
section,
Testing the Cal1 luer path
.
2.
Carefully apply the forceps and pinch-off the small tubing from valve
L3 at the tee fitting.
3.
Apply a vacuum at the sensor luer. If there is no loss of vacuum
continue to next section,
Testing the Cal1 luer path
. A loss of vacuum
indicates a leaking
L1
and/or
L2
valve.
4.
Maintaining the pinched-off tubing:
•
Cap off Cal1 luer at the manifold. If vacuum is held,
L2
valve is
malfunctioning. Remove cap and forceps and continue to next
section,
Testing the Cal1 luer path
.
•
Cap off Cal2 luer at the manifold. If vacuum is held,
L1
valve is
malfunctioning. Remove cap and forceps and continue to next
section,
Testing the Cal1 luer path
.
5.
If vacuum is still not present cap off Cal1 and Cal2 luers at the
manifold.
•
If vacuum is held then both
L1
and
L2
valves are malfunctioning.
Remove caps and forceps continue to next section,
Testing the
Cal1 luer path
.
•
If there is a
