Chapter 5: Dismantling
Original Valve Board / Manifold Assembly
Introduction
This procedure describes the process for removing the original configuration valve
board / manifold assembly from the lower module. This version is no longer being
used and should be replaced with the newer valve board with replaceable valves
and separate manifold assembly configuration.
NOTE:
The valve board and analog board are a matched set for the Hct and SC
circuits and must be calibrated when either is replaced. This also applies when
replacing the lower module or electronics module, which contains these boards.
Calibration is not required when these boards are only removed and put back into
the same analyzer. Refer to Chapter 4, Test and Calibration Procedures, for
instructions on performing this procedure.

Removing the
valve board
Follow these steps to remove the valve board / manifold assembly. Use the
following diagram (Figure 5-17) for reference.
Step Action
1.
Remove the lower module.
2.
Disconnect the roller pump cable from J5 on the valve board.
3.
Disconnect the opto sensor cable from J6 on the valve board.
4.
Disconnect the waste pump cable from J4 on the valve board.
5.
Disconnect the valve tubing from the sensor cassette luer on the valve
board.
6.
Disconnect the tubing from the Tee connector
7.
Disconnect the tubing from the bulk head connector.
8.
Using the 5/16” nut driver, remove the hex nut from the sensor
cassette fitting luer while holding the cassette fitting luer by hand in
the front of the lower module.
9.
Using a 1/16” Allen wrench remove the two screws from the upper
left and right corners of the valve board.
10.
Using a 5/64” Allen wrench, remove the support screw from the
center of the valve board.
11.
Lift out the valve board and manifold assembly.
