Chapter 7: Re-Assembly
Upper Module
Introduction
This section describes the process for re-attaching the upper module to the ABL77
analyzer.
WARNING/
CAUTION:
WARNING:
When the upper module is removed from the main housing and
connected to other modules for testing purpose, DO NOT touch the backlight
inverter board residing inside the upper housing. The backlight inverter
board is carrying live current and constitutes a shock hazard.
Upper module
Follow these steps to re-attach the upper module to the analyzer as shown in
Figure 7-4.
Step Action
1.
Route the backlight inverter cable through the rear cable clamp inside
the disk drive slot opening. Route the backlight inverter cable through
the upper cable clamp on the front of the main housing.
2.
Connect the 4-wire touch screen cable to the touch screen panel
connector. Align pin 1 of the cable with the arrow on the connector.
Secure the cable under the upper cable clamp in the upper module.

Slide the LCD display cable into the slot in the housing bracket and
then connect the LCD display cable to the connector on the LCD
display.

Connect the 2-wire backlight inverter cable to the backlight inverter
board with the red wire facing away from the disk drive. Secure the
cable under the upper cable clamp in the upper module.
5.
Connect the disk drive cable to the disk drive by sliding the brown
locking mechanism down and to the left to open. Insert the large
ribbon cable with the stripe facing up.
6.
Secure the LCD display and touch screen cables in the front cable
clamp located inside the disk drive slot of the main housing. Then
route these cables through the lower cable clamp on the upper portion
of the front of the main housing.
7.
Align and insert the upper module into the main housing. Ensure the
cables are not pinched or hanging out of the analyzer.
8.
Using a 5/64” Allen wrench, insert a screw into the upper back of the
analyzer in the cal pack cavity and tighten.
