Chapter 6: Replacements
Carrying Handle
Introduction
This procedure describes the process for replacing the carrying handle.
Replace the
carrying handle
Follow these steps to replace the ABL77 carrying handle (REF: 886-484).
Step Action
1.
If the handle pins require replacement, remove the upper module.
2.
Remove the e-clips from each of the handle pins.
3.
Remove the handle from the handle pins.
4.
If the handle pins require replacement
•
Remove the handle pins.
•
Apply two drops of Loctite 401 onto the large diameter of the inner
handle pin.
•
Insert the inner handle pin into the main housing from the inside of
the disk drive slot.
•
Insert the outer handle pin from the left outer side of the panel to the
inside area of the housing.
5.
Place the carrying handle inside the housing and attach to the handle
pins.
6.
Replace the e-clips onto each of the molded e-ring grooves in the
handle pins.
