Chapter 4: Test and Calibration Procedures
Valve Test Procedures,
Continued
Follow these steps to test valve

Testing valve L3
NOTE:
Ensure no luer caps and/or forceps are in place.
Step Action
1.
Disconnect the tubing at the normally open port of valve
L3
.
2.
Apply the syringe to the Cal1 luer at the manifold.
3.
Apply a vacuum to the Cal1 luer, the path must not hold a vacuum. If
a vacuum is present, then
L3
is malfunctioning, continue to next
section,
Repairing malfunctioning valves

4.
Apply the syringe to the Cal1 luer; press
Pump Cal2
on the
Hardware
screen.
5.
Apply a vacuum to the Cal1 luer, the path must hold a vacuum
(generally only two to three pulls can be performed).
•
If a vacuum is not present then
L3
valve is malfunctioning.
Continue to next section,

If a vacuum is present then
L3
is not malfunctioning.
6.
Reconnect the tubing.

malfunctioning

•
Obtain single valve kits (REF: 902-791) to replace all malfunctioning valves. For
a system that has an older tubing configuration, the necessary tubing is included
with the valve kit. The single valve kit also includes a Y-cable and instructions
for converting an older style valve board.
