Housing bracket
Follow these steps to replace the housing bracket.
Step Action
1.
Verify that no loose threads are protruding from the copper tape on the
housing bracket. If loose threads come into contact with exposed areas
of the electronics it can cause a short.
2.
Remove the upper module from the analyzer.
3.
Remove the backlight inverter board from the housing bracket.
4.
Remove the disk drive from the housing bracket.
5.
Remove the four screws holding the housing bracket.
6.
Remove the housing bracket allowing the cables to pass through and
remain with the LCD display.
7.
Place the upper housing face down with the disk drive slot on the left.
8.
Hold the new housing bracket face down with the disk drive opening
on the left.
9.
Pass the LCD display cables through the opening on either end of the
drive opening.
10.
Slide the disk drive into the opening from the bottom, aligning the two
screws protruding from the sides of the drive with the slots in the
opening.
11.
Remove the backing paper from the two pieces of copper cloth tape
that are affixed to the bottom sides of the housing bracket. Fold these
pieces back so the adhesive side is facing down.
NOTE:
These pieces of tape will complete the grounding process
when they make contact with the LCD display.
12.
Insert the bracket into the upper housing. Make sure the touch screen
cable passes through the opening in the bracket.
13.
Secure the bracket in place with four screws. These screws will also
pass through the LCD display. Verify alignment of the disk drive
screw holes before tightening.
14.
Secure the disk drive with two screws on the side of the drive.
15.
Re-attach the backlight inverter board.
16.
Cut a piece of copper foil tape 2.75” in length.
17.
Place the tape lengthwise between the disk drive and the outside edge
of the upper module. Make sure the bottom edge of the tape covers the
copper shielding on the outside edge of the upper module.
NOTE:
Make sure the tape does not make contact with the silver
square on the disk drive.
18.
Cut a piece of copper tape 1.5” in length.
19.
Place the tape between the disk drive and the inside of the disk drive
slot. Make sure the tape does not cover the disk drive mechanism.
