Chapter 6: Replacements
Power Board Cable
Power board

Follow these steps to replace the power board cable.
Step Action
1.
Remove the electronics module.
2.
Remove the analog board.
3.
Disconnect the following cables from the CPU and touch screen
controller boards.
•
Power board cable
•
Touch screen controller power cable
•
Ethernet cable
•
COM1 cable
•
Barcode reader / Keyboard cable
4.
Using a 5/64” Allen wrench, remove four screws from the outside of
the electronics chassis.
5.
Lift out the electronics shelf with board guides.
6.
Disconnect the battery control cable (A/D cable) from the left rear of
the battery control board.
NOTE:
Do not disconnect the battery or a complete battery re-
charge cycle will occur.
7.
Loosen (do not remove) all three screws on the battery control board
approximately 6 turns.
8.
Loosen the Kep nut at the back of the battery control board that
secures the power connector bracket by approximately 3 turns.
9.
Raise the battery control board to remove the old power board cable
(636-488) from J4.
10.
Install the new power board cable to J4 of the battery control board.
11.
Re-seat the battery control board and tighten the three screws to
secure the board.
12.
Tighten the Kep nut to secure the power connector bracket.
13.
Re-connect the battery control cable to J5 of the battery control board.
14.
Fold the new power board cable over the top of the J4 connector to the
left. Extend about 2 inches from connector and make a 45° turn to the
outside of the electronics module.
15.
Re-install the electronics shelf with four 5/64” Allen screws.
