
Selection Tool
Description
Pads
Press any pad to select all events for that particular Sound. The pad lights up to
indicate that all events for that Sound are selected (if the Pattern doesn’t have any
events for that Sound, the pad stays off). You can press any additional pad to add
its events to the selection. Press a lit pad to remove all events for that Sound from
the selection (the pad lights off).
Button 7/8 (
ALL
/
NONE
) Selects/deselects all events for all Sounds — in short the whole Pattern.
Button 5/6 (
UP
/
DOWN
)
Select the previous/next Sound in order to add or remove some of its events to/
from the selection. The name of the selected Sound is indicated under the
UP
and
DOWN
labels on the right display.
Knob 1/2 (
START
/
END
)
Define the selection’s start and end points in the timeline for the current Sound.
All events within this time interval are included into the selection.
Page buttons
Shift the selection interval defined by the
START
and
END
values to the left/right.
As the selection interval moves, some events are included into the selection while
other are excluded from the selection.
Knob 4 (
EVENT
)
Selects individual events for the current Sound using the events’ index number
(their “order of appearance” in the Pattern). If the selection contains more than
one event, the
EVENT
field indicates
(MULTI)
.
By combining these tools you can precisely define the selection of events you want to edit.
Additionally, at any time the pads indicate you the selection status of their respective events:
Pad state
Description
Off
None of the events for this Sound are included in the current selection, if any.
Dimmed
Some of the events for this Sound are included in the current selection.
Fully lit
All events for this Sound are included in the current selection.
The total number of events included in the current selection is shown in the right display.
Selecting Notes (Pads in Keyboard mode)
In Keyboard mode, each pad represents a specific pitch of the selected Sound.
