MiVoice Office 250 Installation and Administration Guide

To upgrade an existing v4.0 or v5.0 memory card to v6.1 or later:
1.
Perform a database backup and a database save using DB Programming. For details, refer to
the latest
MiVoice Office 250 Features and Programming Guide
. Also, back up the voice mail
data and file-based MOH files (via AWP), if applicable.
A database backup using DB Programming saves the database to the system. However, you
should also perform a database save to your computer or other accessible location. You can
then use this copy to convert, test, and restore the database after the upgrade.
2.
Record the system’s IP settings for reference.
3.
Download the SSL Certificate.
a.
From the
Administrative Web Portal
(AWP) click the
System Information
tab, and then
click the
SSL Cert
link.
b.
Click the
Download SSL Certificate
link and click
Download SSL Certificate
button.
c.
Download SSL certificate to your Personal Computer.
d.
Keep downloaded SSL Certificate in safe, protected place.
4.
From a supported browser, download the v6.0 or later software and associated documentation
from
Mitel Online
(http://portal.mitel.com/wps/myportal/MOLHome) and
Mitel eDocs Web site
(http://edocs.mitel.com/). Be sure to download the desired NA (North American) or UK v6.0 GA
“release” zip file (that includes the latest System Administration & Diagnostics zip file), and (if
desired) the PS-1 installer zip file.
5.
Unzip the files to a location accessible by your Trivial File Transport Protocol (TFTP) server. Be
sure to use a TFTP server that can handle large files. AWP accesses this TFTP server to look
for upgrade files.
6.
From a browser, enter the IP address for the AWP interface on the MiVoice Office 250 system
you want to upgrade.
7.
Type the MiVoice Office 250 username and password to log on. The main Web page appears.
8.
Click the
System Management
tab, and then click the
System Upgrade
link. A Web page appears.
9.
Change the TFTP Address information as follows:
a.
In the first
TFTP Address
box, type the IP address of the TFTP server holding the upgrade
files.
Make sure this IP address points to a separate TFTP server—do not set it to the internal
TFTP server on the MiVoice Office 250 system.
b.
In the third box, specify a TFTP server pathname that points to the folder containing the
appropriate NA or UK “release” package.
c.
Click
Save Settings
.
d.
Click
View Latest Packages
to view the release packages included in the v6.0 or later
release. Confirm that the release file versions listed in the Available column match the ones
listed in the release notes included with the software download.
NOTE
When upgrading a v4.0/v5.0 system, the latest core Linux file system was already installed
along with v4.0/v5.0, so only the system software is upgraded for v6.1 Release 3.
