Controller’s 40 W power supply pr5 VDC, 4 A output, and the HX Controller’s 120 W power
supply pr24 VDC, 5 A output.
The 100 W power supply in the optional DEI chassis provides power to the DEI chassis and modules.
For universal operation, each chassis
must
be connected to an isolated, dedicated, 90–240 VAC,
15 A (minimum), 50/60 Hz, single-phase commercial power source through a (UPS). The DEI power
supply pr24 VDC, 5.3 A output. For expanded applications, all required power transformers
should be plugged into appropriate power sources. For details, refer to the equipment manufacturer’s
documentation.
In addition to the system power back-up, a rechargeable battery located on the system Processor
Module backs up the database. In the event of a power failure or brownout condition, this battery
supports the module for up to one day. The battery automatically recharges when power is restored
to the module.
Surge/Spike Protection
To reduce the effects of AC voltage surges and spikes that may cause damage to the electronic
components, Mitel recommends installing a surge/spike protector with the following specifications:
• Clamp voltage transients at 300 VAC within 5 nsec when exposed to waveforms as described
in the ANSI/IEEE Standard C62.41-1980 (IEEE 587).
• Radio frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise reduction by
at least 20 dB at frequencies between 5 kHz and 30 MHz.
The Mitel DataNet CommSource
®
division sells a surge/spike protector that meets the recommended
specifications—part number 900.0500.
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Connections
To avoid electrically induced performance problems, all associated MiVoice Office 250 equipment
should be sourced from the same AC phase and ground reference. To assure that the electrical
source is the same, plug MiVoice Office 250 equipment into the same UPS unit. A common electrical
source is most critical with the Base Server and associated Digital Equipment Interface (DEI) units.
Because the optional Processing Server (PS-1/vPS-1) is IP networked, a common electrical source
is not as critical. However, if wattage and outlets are available, the physical PS-1 should be
maintained on the same UPS. The physical PS-1 does not require its own UPS unit.
Comply with the following electrical requirements when installing or upgrading MiVoice Office 250
equipment:
• Plug MiVoice Office 250 equipment into the same UPS unit, in particular the Base Server and
associated DEI units. If wattage and outlets are available, the physical PS-1 should be maintained
on the same UPS.
NOTICES
Do
not
use an extension cord.
Do
not
plug any other equipment into the outlet where the UPS supporting the Base Server or DEI is
plugged-in.
Do
not
defeat, or leave floating, the ground wire in the AC power cord.
