Connecting DEM-16 Station Cables to a European System
Each type of station instrument is connected to a specific port on a DEM-16. Digital telephones are
connected to DEM-16s. Single line phones and playback devices are connected to either the built-in
single line ports, or they can connect to Single-Line Adapters (SLA), which are in turn connected to
available DEM-16 ports
After the cables are run, connect them to the station blocks on the MDF. Ensure both ends of each
station cable are labeled with the circuit number of the associated station instrument. The station
cables are pre-terminated on the upper half of the Krone block. The line plant wiring extension
terminates on the lower half of the Krone block. See the following figures for station cable

a. The station circuit numbers shown above are for the first DEM-16 installed in the equipment chassis. (Bay 1).
